Going through a spiritual wilderness - see Figurine, Note Card
We go through various spiritual seasons in our lives. The Scriptures include
stories of various ones that went through spiritual wildernesses - ie. Jesus,
Moses, Paul, etc. In all of their lives, God used it to further prepare them
for ministry and brought them into deeper intimacy with Himself through the
process where they were stripped of many things in their lives.
This figurine depicts the person in the foreground being stripped of everything - doesn't even have any food or water left, and is sitting in the middle of a desert which is obviously very parched and uncomfortable to be in. Little does this person realize, however, in the midst of their tears and desperation and feeling largely abandoned by God, that He is right there with them He is blue and standing in the midst of a pool of water because He is also their Living Water in the midst of the desert as they look to Him. The heart also expresses His love for the person and that He uses the desert experiences, as painful as they are, to woo us into deeper intimacy with Himself. The cross is a vital part of the wilderness experience and enables us to cross into that place of increasing intimacy with Himself in the midst of a time in our lives where it seems like death is all around us. The desert is a place of vulnerability to us but we are safe as we continue to trust in the TRUTH of who He is and that He is WITH US even though we rarely seem to FEEL or sense His Presence during these times .we often FEEL quite abandoned, but this is a time for our roots to go deep into the TRUTH of His WORD which will help to sustain us.
